The Portland Museum of Art offers many opportunities for you and your students to learn about Maine artists, artmaking techniques, art history, and much more. From tours to workshops, curriculum books to classroom kits, we provide you with the tools you need to bring art into your classroom.
ArtIntensive: Workshop for Educators
Saturday, October 18, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: $20 members/$30 non-members. Lunch and materials are included.
Pre-registration is required by Wednesday, October 10.
Limited to 20 teachers, open to all K-12 educators.
Join the Museum for a one-day professional development workshop for teachers. This exciting and interactive day will include an in-depth study of the Museum's sculpture Ulysses S. Grant by Franklin Simmons. The ArtIntensive workshop includes gallery explorations, hands-on activities, curriculum connections, and arts-integration ideas that will energize the arts in your classroom. Teachers of all grade levels and disciplines are welcome. Teachers will receive a packet of materials. Five contact hours (0.5 CEUs) are available for an additional $20.
